LOCK HAVEN — Elijah Probst, 22, of Woodward Township, is the second Democratic candidate looking to punch his ticket for the Pennsylvania State House of Representative 76th District in November election during the May 17 Primary.
Probst is a 2018 graduate of Central Mountain High School and is a Chemistry major at Lock Haven University.
“I was born and raised right here in central Pennsylvania, living in Clinton County my whole life. Many of you may know me from my service to the community through Boy Scouts, where I have been awarded Eagle Scout for my years of service. I’ve also graduated from the local high school and currently attend Lock Haven University, so many of you may know me as your classmate,” Probst said in a news release.
Probst said he is running for the seat because he feels he understands the residents and what they need.
“It is very important that we have a state representative who is truly dedicated to the people here, and will serve and support the community as their top priority. I love the area we live in and I want to make it the best place it can be,” Probst said in the release.
“I fully believe in the Constitution and the individual liberties it affords to us; they are a keystone of my platform. Things such as our right to bear arms and our freedom of speech are very important to me. I am running as a Democrat in the upcoming primary on May 17th, as I feel I can help reshape the Democratic Party to have an emphasis on the working man again. As your representative, I would ensure that the values we hold dear here in central PA are present in Harrisburg,” the release continues.
