September 11th is Patriot Day and a National Day of Service and Remembrance. On this day Americans across the country are called to volunteer in their local communities in tribute to the individuals lost and injured in the attacks, first responders, and the many who have risen in service to defend freedom.
This year, RSVP’s service project is to assist the Hopkins County Community Chest in the operation of their food pantry. On September 6th, volunteers will help individuals from the community who are shopping at the food pantry and will help keep the pantry shelves stocked during the food distribution. Volunteers will meet at the Hopkins County Community Chest in Sulphur Springs, 217 Linda Drive, at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6. This service project is expected to last about 2-3 hours.
