Shelton fire log: Crews respond to fuel spills, open burnings, accidents

The Shelton Fire Department responded to the following calls this past week.

At 11:24 a.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded with an engine to assist EMS on Route 8 northbound near Exit 12.

At 5:51 a.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 and the White Hills Co. No. 5 responded with an engine and a utility unit to a fuel spill inside the house at a Lisa Drive address.

At 1:29 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 responded with a ladder truck to an odor of electrical burning in the U.S. Post Office Processing Center, 40 Forest Parkway. There was no fire.

At 2:19 p.m., the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded with an engine to an open burning at a Totem Trail address.

At 4:13 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activated at the Helen DeVaux Housing Complex, 91 Howe Ave. There was no fire.

At 6:13 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with a rescue truck to Valley Road for a power line sparking.

At 5:33 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 responded with a rescue truck to a motor vehicle accident on Howe Avenue near Hill Street.

At 8:33 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to power lines down in road on Dexter Drive.

At 11:44 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 responded with an engine and a ladder truck to a fire alarm activated at the Wild Kanji Restaurant, 514 Bridgeport Ave. There was no fire.

At 4:22 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3, Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the White Hills Co. No. 5 responded with an engine and a ladder truck to a fire alarm activated at a Progress Drive address. There was no fire.

At 2:12 p.m., the Echo Hose H& L Co. No. 1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activated at the Hewitt Memorial Hospital, 45 Maltby St. There was no fire.

At 3:55 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 and the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to a motor vehicle accident in along the 900 block of Bridgeport Avenue.

At 4:16 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with an engine to power lines down on Brentley Drive.

At 6:31 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 responded with an engine to a motor vehicle accident in the area of the 300 block of Coram Avenue.

At 8:35 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with an engine to power lines sparking on Buddington Road.

At 12:34 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the White Hills Co. No. 5 responded with two engines to a Geissler Drive address for a 20-pound propane tank leaking outside.

At 1:18 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with an engine to a Copper Penny Lane address for a 20-pound propane tank leaking outside.

At 1:44 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 responded with a rescue truck to a motor vehicle accident in front of a Bridgeport Avenue address.

At 5:31 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 and the White Hills Co. No. 5 responded with an engine to an odor investigation at a Coral Drive address.

At 6:19 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 and the White Hills Co. No. 5 responded with two engines to a fire alarm activation at a Waverly Road address. There was no fire.

At 6:46 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activated at a Hillside Avenue address. There was no fire.

At 7:34 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3, Echo Hose H &L Co. No. 1 and the Pine Rock Park Co. No. 4 responded with two engines and a ladder truck to Tudor Time Day Care, 708 Bridgeport Ave., for a fire alarm activation. There was no fire.

At 9:03 p.m., the Echo Hose H & L Co. No. 1 and the White Hills Co. No. 5 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to the Birmingham on the River Condo’s, 145 Canal St., for a person stuck in an elevator.

At 9:21 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with an engine and a utility truck to Shelton Avenue at Maler Street for a power line hazard.
