A group of Chinese scientists from the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics published an article in Unmanned Systems Technology on the development of an unmanned vehicle which moves freely and freely in the air. Such a vessel can be used in diverse civil and military operations from rescue in the sea and inspection of underwater objects to anti-cook warfare vessels.

It’s not new to think about a need for a combination of the functions of a submarine and a plane. One of the first – more or less substantiated – projects of a submarine aircraft was proposed in 1934 by the university student Boris Ushakov. The commission recognized that the project wasn’t progressing due to the lack of space between the hybrid vessels in the water and on the surface. But another project that American Donald Reid went to the stage of the first flight in 1964, although things didn’t get to the stage beyond the prototypes.
Modern materials, batteries and electronics help solve numerous technological problems previously encountered by developers of multi-media devices. It can be assumed that such a project is carried out in a lot of countries; which confirms in indirect, that was a demonstration in China. They successfully tested a hybrid drone prototype with a wingspan of about two meters, and in order to eventually create a much larger, unmanned submarine airplane.
The theory of the transition from the ocean to the ocean is the most difficult time. Any water is affected by this process. For example the British solve this problem using accelerators for acetylene, but the Chinese were wrong. The aerodynamics of a hybrid vessel consist of sliding on the water’s surface before putting off a lift. Airplane-type wings fold into the air before diving and extend after resurfacing. The drone is powered by four quadrocopter, front and rear propellers which move the angle of a plane for maneuvering and horizontally.

The speed of the hybrid drone prototype in the air is 120 km/h. Currently, an individual drone is expected to make it 200 km/h faster. When detected by radar, the hybrid drone explodes swiftly and can take to the air, giving it the advantage of being invulnerable to attack in all environment.
